Focus on throughput of materials

Throughput - that is the linear model of : extract, manufacture, use, discard - is unsustainable as it is, let alone subject to the absurdity of everlasting economic growth. Transition to a stable, cyclical model of production - recycle, manufacture, repair, re-use, recycle - combined with many other ecologically informed activities, will generate more jobs and, providing human population growth ceases, can enable us to maintain prosperity without damaging our life-support systems.
