7,000 civilians have been raped as result of attack against FDLR

The Congo Advocacy Coalition reported in October 2009 the UN-backed offensive to destroy a Hutu rebel group in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo has led to more than 1,000 civilians being killed, 7,000 raped, and 900,000 forced from their homes.
