Dialogue – from Next Tuesday Calls
Notes from discussions on this topic that take place on the Next Tuesday Call
April 1, 2014
Denise, working in Hollywood. Always non-disclosure agreements when there is money involved. Working for herself for 30 yrs, in the final moments, there always seems to be miscommunication if not laid out up front. Has already seen things blossoming. Politely keeping in touch - if someone introduces you to someone else, to include the introducer when something comes of it. Being careful on the front end. An element of who wants to get credit.
Kimberly W would meet with people one-on-one on purpose, and the three questions again. Takes a long time but is very useful. Gives ppl time to think about why they are participating with the group. Could gather electronically, but not as rich. Need to co-create some basic agreements, and use in daily practice, have be part of call. A different way of operating as a team, shared values, and how we work together.
Jim Caldwell - remembers Kimberly's SVII on Creative Problem Solving in which you laid out steps of who/what/when/why before going to the 'how'
Kim W Start with the big 'why' then 'who' (stakeholders);
Jim: People tend to jump to 'how' before the other aspects. Has a model on sustainable cities (created on Bainbridge Island) - architects, community members, etc together from beginning to end - worked very well.
Denise, when started Wings of Love 4 yrs ago, created a code of honor workbook first.
Happy to send. Skills inventory also. Continued Mission Statement along with code of honor.
Kimberly - I think we need something in the abstract (code of honor) then also behavioral aspects - what it looks like in real time. Every group she works with has issues that come up. So high level but also tactical operational guide-line. Needs to be co-created, not dictated.
