Internet mediated crowdsourcing selects for a narrow demographic

To participate in an internet debate requires access to the internet and the (cultural) know-how to contribute. Naturally this selects for a particular demographic, namely the younger generations and those not on the lowest incomes. Moreover, only those who want to contribute, not all those who can, will.
