Semantic Interoperability

Semantics concerns the study of meanings. Semantic interoperability refers to the ability of computer systems to transmit data with unambiguous, shared meaning. Semantic interoperability is a requirement to enable machine computable logic, inferencing, knowledge discovery, and data federation between information systems.
