Elections in Norway — the Blues vs the Greens

A small note pointing to a situation we have grown too accustomed to

Norway has just had its elections.

A big pre-election news, according to the polls, was that the Green Party was getting 5% of the votes, and a seat in the Parliament.

"The policies advocated by the Green Party will make Norway poorer", warned the Conservative Party's leadership (I heard this on the Norwegian Public Radio morning news).

So the popularity of the Greens got down a bit; but they did get a seat in the parliament.

The conservative coalition won the elections by a landslide. The red-green government that was led by Jens Stoltenberg is now leaving the office.

The new Conservative Prime Minister had this ingenious platform that was just impossible to say no to: "New ideas, better solutions".
