Increasing land productivity

70% of the world’s land is only a quarter to a third as productive as it could be—leaving a lot of scope for intensification. However, for this to be sustainable, yields must be increased while using fewer inputs, reducing use of fresh water, finding ways to decrease air, land and water pollution.
