Not only does that increase crime rates, but also puts everyone that lives there in danger of drunk drivers. Higher exposure is necessary for our children, but there's always a limit.

CALABASAS (CBS) — Starbucks will be serving up alcohol at a location near you . . . that is if you live in Calabasas.

The first Starbucks to sell alcohol in the Los Angeles area will be at a location that is already open for business at 26531 Agoura Road.

Starbucks filed with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control on March 12 for a license to sell beer and wine at the store.

The permit is currently pending.

In January, the coffee giant announced that they planned to sell beer and wine at up to six LA-area stores by the end of 2012.

Beer and wine, offered to customers for $5 to $9, has been sold in some of the chain’s Seattle shops since 2010.

Starbucks has not announced what brand of beer and wine they will carry locally.
