The Taskforce commissioned online training material on website usability from COI that can be deployed rapidly at low cost. The Permanent Secretary Government Communications should bring forward a plan to train communications staff in the basics of social media and a modern web presence by Q3 2009

Modern training in modern skills

In conversations with civil servants in Whitehall, the Taskforce has found varying levels of expertise and familiarity with the tools and techniques discussed in this report. While there are some areas of world leading expertise, use and expertise is still patchy.
