Purpose of firm = make profits

In capitalist market economies, the purpose of firm is primarily to make profits.It is not to save the whales, equalize incomes in society, or support the arts. If the firm believes it is beneficial for it to conserve the ecosystems, increase personal well-being, or invest in art, it can do that.
