? Crowdsourcing news ?

How do we crowdsource news? WikiDiario provided some functionality. What can be learned from this experiment? What else is needed?

The idea of the lower loop is as follows; the question here is – what tools and processes are used to accomplish this?

Processes

The public – citizens, scientists, institutions, businesses – can enter news. As in NewsWire (Oslo KF collaborator) the journalists have an editorial role. Here we, however, add also a sensemaking function, facilitated by DebateGraph.

What results is a 'whistle' (phenomenological 'butterfly') –  identification of events that need attention.

If the work ended there, however, we would be missing the key upper (systemic) loop, where underlying (systemic) reasons are understood and where systemic solutions, and ultimately leverage points (courses of action) are identified. How is the transition from phenomenological insights to systemic work – where specific researchers etc. are included – implemented?

Tools

The current proposal is to use DebateGraph to orchestrate this process.
