Phase 1: Generate SIs
Attach Statements of Importance (SIs) here. 1) Review existing SIs. 2) Attach unique SIs to Phase1: Generate SIs 3) add similar SIs as satellite circles to the SI they are similar to. See details for further instructions.
SIs are intended to capture all of the important aspects of the Opening Question: "What is the ideal form of the business firm for a sustainable society". These SIs will later be grouped into 12 topics which will be the starting points for our small group work.
Each SI you create must have 1. a one or two word title that will be the label for its circle and 2. a summary that appears when the mouse hovers over the circle.
Statements of Importance (SIs) should be short (less that 20 words), concise, phrases that are related, in some way, to the opening question.
Each SI should express only one core idea.
SIs should pass two tests:
- If the statement can be reasonably debated and negated, it has passed the negation test.
- if the statement contributes to understanding the opening question, it has passed the relevance test.
Please avoid motherhood and apple pie statements.
These exercises typically generate a large number of SIs. In order to keep the exercise manageable, please follow the protocol of attaching unique SIs to the "Phase1: Generate SIs" circle and appending similar ones as satellites to the SI in question.
