Previous Consultation and Submissions: | Smart Meters Consumer Protections In December 2007, the former Ministerial Council on Energy (MCE) committed to work with stakeholders to review consumer protection arrangements to ensure they remained appropriate where smart meters are rolled out. The Smart Meters Consumer Protections and Pricing Draft Policy Paper Two is the second consultation stage of the review.The paper considers whether current consumer protection arrangements are appropriate to cover the new products and services enabled by smart meters and whether, and how, the arrangements can be enhanced so that consumers are able to realise the benefit.
