The Future We Want?

In regard to guidelines for input, The Future We Want is designed to fill a niche in the deliberations about sustainable development. That niche is to engage people in a conversation about what their lives and communities could be like in 20 years, if we commit to sustainable development. We are conducting the conversation verbally and visually, and we plan to incorporate many of the ideas in our exhibit at Rio+20.
I'd like to invite your group to take part in this conversation on any of the media channels we've established. The starting point is our web site: www.futurewewant.org, where they'll find instructions and links to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.
We are looking for solutions, as distinct from policies, in seven areas that correspond to mini-campaigns the UN is conducting prior to Rio: cities, water, oceans, energy, disasters, jobs and food. We're most interested in solutions that apply to localities and individuals -- for example, planning communities with sufficient density to support district heating systems, or emphasizing distributed energy generation over central power stations.
We figure that suggestions on national and international policies to implement solutions like these will be well-covered by many NGOs, the UN mini-campaigns and other UN exercises.
Before long, we'll launch an updated website on which these solutions will begin appearing.
