July 1937: British Royal Commission recommends Partition

A British Royal Commission led by Lord Peel, recommends that the British Mandate of Palestine be partitioned the land into a Jewish and an Arab state—with the Jewish state given roughly a third of the territory including the coastal plain and Galilee.
