June 1967: The Six Day War

Israel launched a millitary operation on 5 June 1967, which, after six days of fighting, resulted in Israel doubling the territory it controlled—having taken Gaza and Sinai Peninsula from Egypt, the Golan Heights from Syria, and East Jerusalem and the West Bank from Jordanian forces.
