Mind-body problem isn't a real-world problem

The mind-body problem is purely logical and conceptual problem—i.e. a verbal word use problem. As such, it sheds no light on the world, nor is it eliminated by the construction of a special kind of machine.

"The various issues and puzzles that make up the traditional mind-body problem are wholly linguistic and logical in character: whatever few empirical 'facts' there may be in this area support one view as much as another."

Hilary Putnam (1960, p.148).
