PINs and passwords can be reset

 Banks and other institutions know that passwords can be stolen, so they successfully compartmentalise information to limit theft or damage.  If a biometric system is compromised, then all accounts are open to a thief, the onus of care shifts to the individual and you can't reset a fingerprint.
