PL: Status and Progress

● Government is currently preparing a report concerning the state of DA implementation in Poland; the activities related to digital inclusion are focused mostly on including digital skills in formal curriculum; Government seems to concentrate mostly on educational sector;

● The majority of interesting activities and projects in the field of wider digital inclusion are coordinated by NGO’s. It seems that most successful programs are those targeted at particular groups, such us librarians, teachers or elderly users. Here private-public partnerships can serve as a good example - the library support program of FRSI foundation or the Dojrzałość w Sieci coalition for e-inclusion of seniors.

● At the beginning of 2012 the Association „Cities on the Internet” will launch a nation-wide educational project with several thousand volunteers that will spread their digital skills among ordinary citizens

● Polish government has undertaken various initiatives supporting wider access to public data and information, what can foster the process of digital inclusion (new Access / Re-use of public information Bill, planned Bill on Opennes of Public Resources)

● Work has started at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister on an e-school program, which includes components for increasing e-skills and access to ICT
