This Climate Change Decision-Making Debategraph was created and is being moderated by the Climatographers, Dr. Mark C. Trexler and environmental lawyer Laura Kosloff.  It builds upon our 25+ years in the field, and our 5+ years building the Climate Web, a climate change knowledge solution intended to support climate change decision-making across multiple topics and audiences. 

The Climate Web organizes tens of thousands of sources, news stories, videos, and more into a information web with the goal of helping individuals find "actionable knowledge." Based on TheBrain software, the Climate Web is a uniquely powerful way to explore the best ideas and materials coming from thousands of sources and individuals.  

But the Climate Web is not as intuitive for many people as is the Debategraph platform, and Debategraph has a number of valuable attributes.  We can point you to the Climate Web from Debategraph, but you can also participate in the conversation and in building the Map via Debategraph (something that you can't do with the Climate Web). You can also become a member of the Map's Community and stay informed via email or RSS feed of changes to the Map.  We welcome your participation and help!  

We have made this Climate Change Decision-Making DebateGraph public to encourage discussion and participation.  In order to understand what constitutes "actionable knowledge" for specific individuals and audiences we have to engage with those audiences.  

That said, this Map is not intended as a place to debate climate change (I'd suggest the Anthropogenic Climate Change DebateGraph for that).  We buy into the idea that while everyone is entitled to their own opinion, they're not entitled to their own facts.  When generally accepted facts and opinion start to be seen as equivalent, it's almost impossible to have any kind of productive conversation.  And since it's productive conversation we're looking for, that's how we'll moderate the Map.
